Make Time Stand Still

We have a wonderful friend, who we've known for ages. He works a day job, has a photography business, as well as a few other things on the go, and he and his wife have two beautiful little babas. With his hands being so full, one would think that he would never have time for friends.

That's why it is such a wonderful feeling that when you are in his company, he is always glad to see you, and interested in what you are doing. A smile rarely leaves his face, and his excitement for life is absolutely contagious. I always feel like I can take on the world after spending time with the Cloetes. A remarkable thing that we've noticed about him, is that he has never described himself as busy. It got me thinking, do you think we use "busy" as a way of amplifying our lives to make it seem more that what it really is - a mess of comings and goings that speak of action without joy of fulfilment or passion?

We all only have 24 hours in a day. But some have the gift of making time stand when you are with them. They dig into your heart and pull out the best of you. So let's be those kind of people. Let's increase the scope of what we share with each other. Let's become better story tellers. I'm sure we'll be amazed at how the ordinary things in our lives, truly moves those that hear us. From my heart to yours, Nicole Neethling
